SPY x FAMILY: Loid, Yor and Anya, the Forger family
October 26, 2026

Recommends – Spy x Family, a Fake Family That Feels Real

A spy, an assassin and a telepathic little girl pretend to be a family, and it turns into the real thing.

Spy x Family is a spy comedy with a warm heart and one of the funniest kids in anime. It is the easiest series to recommend to anyone, of any age.

SPY x FAMILY: Loid and Twilight and Forger

The premise – A spy needs a family, fast

Agent Twilight, the best spy in Westalis, needs a wife and a child to get close to a dangerous politician. He builds a family in a week, as Loid Forger.

He adopts Anya, who can secretly read minds, and sets up a marriage of convenience with Yor, who is secretly an assassin. Nobody knows the others' secrets, except Anya, who knows all of them.

SPY x FAMILY: Anya

Why it works – Anya steals every scene

Anya knows everything and understands half of it, and her faces have become some of the most shared pictures in anime. Every episode is built around a lie that nearly falls apart.

Wit Studio and CloverWorks animate the action like a spy film and the jokes like a sitcom, and the opening, Official HIGE DANdism's “Mixed Nuts”, is pure fun.

SPY x FAMILY: watch it with someone

The verdict – Watch it with someone

Start with season one. The episodes are short, light and easy to share, so it is a perfect pick for a family evening or a friend new to anime.

If you laugh at the first episode, you will be part of the Forger family by the fifth.

Where to watch

SPY x FAMILY was listed on Netflix, Crunchyroll and Hulu in the USA when we last checked, in October 2026. Catalogues change by country and by month, so check the service where you are.
