DAN DA DAN: the main characters

She believes in ghosts, he believes in aliens, and both of them are about to find out they were right.

Dan Da Dan throws horror, sci-fi, comedy and a shy teenage romance into one show and somehow keeps all of them spinning. It is one of the most energetic anime of recent years.

The premise - One believes in ghosts, one in aliens

DAN DA DAN: one believes in ghosts, one in aliens

Momo Ayase believes in ghosts and laughs at aliens. Her classmate Ken Takakura, whom she nicknames Okarun, believes in aliens and laughs at ghosts.

To settle it, each visits the other's haunted spot on the same night, and both of them turn out to be right.

Why it works - Every genre at full speed

Within the first episode they face alien abductors and a vengeful spirit called Turbo Granny, and the night leaves both of them with strange new abilities.

Science SARU switches from horror to slapstick to real tenderness inside a single scene, and Creepy Nuts' opening “Otonoke” sets the pace.

The verdict - Twelve episodes that never slow down

Fuuta Kimura directed the first season, 12 episodes in 2024, adapted from Yukinobu Tatsu's manga. A second season followed in 2025.
